The story
Founded in 2010, AACI works closely with various social entities. Our members have been collaborating for over a decade on projects such as Leonardo Da Vinci, Grundtvig and Erasmus+, participating in programmes with national, regional and local institutions and organisations in European countries such as Romania, Lithuania, the United Kingdom, Ireland, among others.
Our partners come from a variety of backgrounds, including universities, scientific institutes, vocational training centres, regional governments, chambers of commerce and other cultural and educational institutions.
Our Team
We are a diverse group of people from different backgrounds and nationalities, united by common interests and goals. We work with passion, creativity and professionalism to exchange and disseminate experiences and good practices in key areas such as vocational training and social entrepreneurship, with a special focus on sustainability and environmental concerns.

Ben McConnell
A researcher and professor in Spain, he was born in Northern Ireland and has focused his career on language teaching. With experience in European projects on the circular economy, he is currently president of AACI, from where he continues to promote this cause.

Nelson Mendes
Professor and academic coordinator of Portuguese origin, with more than 25 years of experience in teaching. He has worked in the research and development of European projects, especially in the circular economy. Currently, he is vice president of AACI.
Project management
Gabriela Santos
Of Brazilian origin, she is an expert in tourism and currently holds the position of secretary at AACI.
Her interest in responsible practices in the sector led her to get involved in the CIRCLE 2 project.
